Iloilo City is considered as one of the fastest growing BPO provincial hubs in the Philippines. As much as 5,000 Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) professionals are needed by the BPO companies that are currently operating in the province.
In a recent job fair Iloilo City mayor Jose Espinosa III said that opportunity for immediate employment is ongoing given that the BPO companies in the province are still hiring.
Mayor Espinosa further added that despite the volume of fresh graduates entering the workforce each year, the demand for BPO professionals have yet to be met.
For entry level jobs, there are even opportunities for undergraduates that are skilled when it comes to communications.
“Our BPOs do not need college graduates. They are only after those with good communication skills,” Mayor Espinosa was quoted by Update PH.
The BPO scene is thriving in Iloilo and with 2017 drawing to a close, there is much optimism heading into the new year with the expansion and influx of BPO companies that are choosing to invest in the province.
Currently, there are 52 voice and non-voice BPO firms in the province and according to the Local Economic and Investment Promotion Office (LEIPO), more and more BPOs are eyeing to setup operations in the near future.
According to Colliers, the infrastructure investment are paying dividends to Iloilo’s emerging BPO hub where premiere real estate developers such as Megaworld’s Iloilo Festive Walk 1B, Two Technoplace and Three Technoplace. Ayala Land’s Atria Park District BPO 1 and 2 while SM City Iloilo has Tower 1. As developers open offices that are outfitted and ready for tenants, BPO companies are quickly taking up space.
2018 sets a very promising year for Iloilo and its BPO scene.
